I recently attended a class on Essential Oils and really wanted to share this link with everyone, since many of you are familiar with essential oils and have children. There are many good points to consider here, recognizing that essential oils can be an extremely valuable and powerful tool, especially when it comes to children.
The article also addresses internal use, which has come up in some of my classes, and I would certainly advocate for extreme caution. I have taken EOs internally before, under the direction of a naturopath, but I noticed that it caused some etching to the inside of my glass drinking glasses as well — obvious evidence to their power! If you are currently or considering ingesting essential oils, please do your own research, and be sure to expand your sources beyond the essential oil companies themselves — their goal is to sell essential oils, and I would want to always consider an impartial source as well.
Something else I learned — lavender is the only EO that should be used ‘neat’ (without dilution in a carrier oil) .. hmm.. there’s something that I need to work on!
What do you think?? Are there some cautions you may need to start taking with your children or your own use of essential oils?
